Ekenäs museum (1906-2006) celebrated its 100-year anniversary in April 2006 by opening a new permanent exhibition about the history of the city and its surroundings. The museum center EKTA opened 19.4.2006. The summer exhibition featured well-known Finnish artists and their views on western Nyland. Conferences and lectures has also been given during the year.
